After rescheduling three times—because we all know life happens and we can’t control when kids get sick or when Oklahoma decides to amp up the wind and do a little spring cleaning—I finally had the privilege of photographing the Keast family!
The Keasts' are one of my long-term clients, and the last time I photographed them was over three years ago. Seeing how much their kids have grown made this session extra special. I wanted to find a location that didn’t feel completely lifeless after winter, and I lucked out with a little spot at Great Salt Plains State Park—a mix of evergreens and a sand plum bush just starting to bloom, adding the perfect touch of color.
Adventure, Laughter, and Big Hugs
From the moment we started, the kids were eager to explore, and I knew I’d have my hands full keeping their attention! But instead of fighting their energy, we leaned into it. We raced, picked flowers, and made a game out of everything—even getting the youngest engaged by having her make sure her brothers didn’t run away.
One of my favorite moments? The boys picking flowers for their mom and sister, followed by a competition to see who could squeeze Dad the hardest when giving him a hug. Those unscripted moments—full of love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos—are what make sessions like this so memorable.
A Session Full of Sweet Moments
Near the end of the session, the boys didn’t believe they could see through my camera lens, so I let them take a peek through the viewfinder. Watching their faces light up with excitement was such a fun moment!
We captured so many sweet memories, and even Mom and Dad got to steal a few quiet moments together—which, as any parent knows, can feel rare when you have little ones running around.
Worth Every Reschedule
Keast family, thank you for trusting me again to capture these memories! Watching your family grow and documenting these seasons of life is such an honor. It was the perfect family session that was worth every reschedule.
